Decoding Ferran Adria

Before everyone gets wrapped up in their Fourth of July plans, make sure to catch the Travel Channel's Monday night airing of Decoding Ferran Adria, the Anthony Bourdain special where he visits the famed Spanish culinary genius in his restaurant El Bulli and his research laboratory.

I managed to get my boyfriend to watch it with me. He is not an adventurous eater usually, but after seeing this he was ready to pack our bags and get on the next plane to Spain!

Was that cool or what?!

I'm looking forward to the ripple effect of this stuff in the culinary media. People like Alton Brown have to be all over this. Also, kids in culinary schools are gonna be prodding their instructors about it. This has gotta be stirring things up.

I'm still trying to deal with the ham shop too.

First off, that's an awesome domain name yo! Yeah Bordain is one of my all time heros - the guy is absolutely brilliant and cracks me up everytime.

I set my Tivo but was away on vacation and my satelite went out. Would anyone be willing to share a tape of this episode because travel channel has no immediate plans to re-air the broadcast.

I got the DVD from Amazon.com and it's worth having it in your collection. I'm sure our kids will laugh at what we thought was avant-garde today. I just have to say, sniff the rosemary.
